Jordan is a parliamentary monarchy with a 6 million inhabitants. Neighboring countries are Syria, Israel, the West Bank, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. It has through the Gulf of Aqaba an open connection to the Red Sea and the rest of the world. Jordan has three types of landscapes. The eastern Jordanian desert plateau, the Jordan Valley and in the west hill landscapes. There is a largely desert climate. The capital Amman has slightly more than million inhabitants and many attractions such as the Roman theater, the Odeion, the Roman Forum, a folkloric museum, the Temple of Hercules and a Byzantine church, the palace of Omajjaden and various mosques. Other major cities are the port city of Aqaba, Al-nature, Az-Zarqa, Irbid, Ma'an, Rihab, Madaba and Jerash. On the list of UNESCO world heritage includes the ancient city of Petra, historic bathhouse Quseir Amra and archaeological site there Um-Rasas (Kastrom Mefa'a). Other attractions in Jordan are the archaeological sites of Gadara, Pella and Baydha and the Dead Sea. Furthermore, the nature Dana, Wadi Rum and Wadi Mujib, the town of Madaba and Mount Nebo and four desert castles, to know Mshatta facade, Qasr Azraq, and Quseir Amra Qasr Hraneh.
