Travel information Bahrain : Bahrain is an oil state in the middle east with some 650,000 inhabitants. It lies between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Bahrain. The constitutional monarchy has as its neighbors Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Bahrain comprises about thirty-three different islands connected by bridges. The landscape of the islands is largely determined by rocks and desert plains. Only the main island has a few freshwater sources. The coastal waters are very shallow. The capital of Bahrain is Manama and has about 160,000 inhabitants. Places are the Bahrain World Center, the Siyadi house, Bahrain's cultural center, museum Bait al quran and the King Fahd dam. Other major cities are Muharraq, Riffa, Madinat Hamad, A'ali, Jidhafs, Sitra, Awali and Isa Town. At the World Heritage list of UNESCO is the tell Qal'at al Bahrain. It is an artificial hill, with the fort, formed by successive layers of human habitation. Other attractions are the Barbar Temple, the Arad Fort, the Sakhir Formula 1 circuit and the village of Bani Jamrah, known for its weaver culture. Furthermore, Al ears wildlife park, the Al Khamis Mosque, the house of Sheikh Isar, the Life, the archaeological complex Qalaat al bahrain.
