The western part is the Malay Peninsula, Malacca, which borders Thailand, Singapore and the Strait of Malacca. East Malaysia is the northern part of the island of Borneo. Other major cities include Kota Bharu, Kuah, Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan, Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Tanah Rata. Monuments on the World Heritage List of UNESCO are the two historic cities in the Strait of Malacca, George Town and Malacca and the national parks of Kinabalu and Gunung Mulu. Other attractions are the Formula 1 circuit, the amusement park Genting Highlands, the national parks and spectacular flora and fauna.
