Singapore is a country in southeast Asia with about 4 ½ million inhabitants. The republic consists of the main island of Singapore Island and 58 other islands, of which about half is occupied. Other main islands are Jurong Island, Pulau Tekong, Pulau Ubin and Sentosa. Singapore is among countries Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines.
