The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven emirates comprising 4.6 million inhabitants. Abu Dhabi is the largest emirate. It lies on the Arabian Peninsula. Neighboring Countries Saudi Arabia and Oman. It has a coastline along the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The UAE have a privatized oil industry. The landscape of United Arab Emirates is determined by the Rub al-Khali desert. In the center and south of the country blew up dunes. In the north and northeast are the foothills of the Hajar Mountains. Only in the east are a few wadis to find. There is a desert climate. The capital Abu Dhabi consists of 1 million inhabitants. It is a modern city with skyscrapers, wide boulevards and shopping malls. Sightseeing in the port city are the Qasr Al-Hosn Palace, the Al Maqtaa fort, the district Corniche, the Khalifa Park, Heritage Village living museum, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Lulu Island and the Dhow port. Just outside the city lies the Jumeira Beach. Other major cities are Dubai, the port city of Fujairah, Ajman, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm al-Qaiwain and Sharjah. Other attractions are the garden city Al Ain, Hili Archaeological Park, the many bazaars, the forts of Bithna and Fujairah, the port of Khorfakkan, ancient fortress town of Hatta and Hatta wadi.
